Honda STEAM Connections Tour Heading to UC-Berkeley Sept. 13

Honda Performance Development travels to the University of California-Berkeley Sept. 13 for the next round of its Honda STEAM Connections Tour. The day-long event at which area middle school and high school students are invited to attend, showcases the science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) behind Honda’s Verizon IndyCar Series program with an emphasis on career opportunities in motorsports and the automotive industry. Cal-Berkeley’s Formula SAE team members will host the event and display their car builds and other projects relating to engineering programs. The Sept. 13 Honda STEAM Connections Tour event also will feature the No. 8 Chip Ganassi Racing car of driver Max Chilton, who will participate in a Q&A with students along with a Honda Performance Development trackside engineer. A Firestone Racing engineer also will join the Honda team to address tire technology and the vital role of analytics in the high-speed and demanding racing environment. The Honda STEAM Connections Tour event at Cal-Berkeley precedes the Verizon IndyCar Series championship-deciding race Sept. 15-17 at Sonoma Raceway. The tour is organized and managed by STEAM Sports Group. For more information:
