Scholarships

To date, STEAM Sports Foundation has awarded fourteen, $5,000 scholarships to under-represented female minority undergraduate college and technical school students throughout the U.S. Grants this year will include those with disabilities as well. The foundation receives nearly 100 inquiries and applications per year before determining a group of finalists from which selections are made. The selection committee focuses primarily on rising juniors and seniors. Students from the following universities have received scholarships to date:  Stanford, Kettering, Wayne State, Georgia, Florida A&M, UT-San Antonio, Oakland, UNC-Charlotte, Solano Community College and Universal Technical Institute. More information about the recipients can be found under the News tab.

Scholarship recipients all must demonstrate interest and activity toward an engineering career in motorsports or the automotive industry. Preferred majors include mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, data analytics, physics and math. Internships and interest in motorsports and technical innovations that include development of electric and autonomous vehicles are given priority. These candidates previously have been few and far in-between. We want to change that. We are looking to develop tomorrow’s pioneers.
